LG and Amwell partnered this March as part of the former’s strategic vision to create socially impactful products and services.

LG Electronics (LG) has unveiled its first joint virtual care solution with Amwell for addressing hospital workforce shortages.

Dubbed the Carepoint TV Kit 200L, the new solution has been designed for expanding the boundaries of digital health innovation.

It is powered by the Amwell Converge platform and uses existing LG healthcare TVs in patient rooms to allow providers to engage, monitor and discharge patients, remotely.

This approach also helps reduce the workload of healthcare professionals.

The Carepoint TV Kit 200L will help expand the reach of clinicians and care teams through virtual rounding, nursing, e-sitting and isolation room monitoring.

With this, tasks such as patient admission and discharge, care coordination with patients, family members and other providers, medical reconciliation, and patient monitoring all can be carried out from a single location.

LG Electronics Digital Health general manager Atul Singh said: “We’re spearheading a digital transformation of the healthcare system in hospitals by providing an innovative platform that makes care more virtual, accessible and efficient while helping to improve quality of care.

“Our new TV Kit solution helps alleviate the challenges that hospitals struggle with day-to-day, such as better managing labor shortages and offering clinicians and care teams greater flexibility and easier access to patients.”

Initially in March this year, LG and Amwell partnered as part of the former’s strategic vision to create new socially impactful products and services.

Amwell chief marketing officer Susan Worthy said: “Technology innovation such as this can reduce the burden on clinicians and care teams while improving patient engagement and ultimately enabling a better care experience for all.

“We are honoured to continue expanding our partnership with LG as we work together to empower hospitals and their staff with the tools and innovations necessary to achieve their goals.”
